My research is primarily about intelligence and representation across biological and artificial systems. My central project is a theory of compositional structure in the organization and function of neural representations, as well as some applied computational methods to test for and explore it. The larger goals of my research are twofold: (1) help assemble a general theory of diverse intelligences by understanding the primitive elements of representation, and (2) mine + explore insights in this area for applications to various biomedical problems.

I am currently a PhD student in the philosophy department at the University of Missouri. I am also a member of the Digital Biology Lab at the University of Missouri, where I have worked on foundation model fine-tuning strategies and now focus on AI architectures for structural protein analysis in neurodegenerative disease.

I organize a small research group focused on issues in theoretical AI, biology and neuroscience. I would like to grow this into an active collaborative body, so if you are interested in joining or helping me organize, please get in touch.
